Trump Just Lashed Out At A Major Paper Over Controversial New Report That Broke This Morning

- Desember 19, 2017

Trump’s presidency has been a string of humiliating, abject failures. He was unable to repeal and replace Obamacare, his trip to Asia ended in zero bilateral trade deals, and he lacks a single substantive policy or legislative victory.

The sole success that his supporters tout is his appointment of Neil Gorsuch to the Supreme Court, a win which really belongs to Mitch McConnell (R-KY) and his vile scheme to deny President Obama the right for the Senate to vote on his nominee Merrick Garland. McConnell stole a Supreme Court seat, and Trump has claimed credit for it.

Now, it appears the president almost managed to botch that gift-wrapped success too. A new report from The Washington Post details how Trump considered rescinding Gorsuch’s nomination before he was confirmed.

According to eleven different sources, Trump was incensed that his nominee had spoken to legislators and criticized the president’s attacks on the judicial branch. Trump saw the comments as indicative of a lack of loyalty.

Of course, the Supreme Court is an independent branch of government and the Justices have no obligation to be loyal to the president, only the constitution. But a little fact like that isn’t something Trump, with his authoritarian tendencies, would be likely to care about.

“He’s probably going to end up being a liberal like the rest of them. You never know with these guys,” Trump whined in a meeting with Speaker of the House Paul Ryan (R-WI) and Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell.

Not surprisingly, Trump didn’t take well to the Post exposing his efforts to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. Once again, the president has been exposed as a mercurial, incompetent bumbler, and he hates it.

Trump tweeted that the story is “FAKE NEWS” and that he never wavered on his Gorsuch appointment. He claims that the eleven sources don’t exist, an assertion that is unfounded, patently absurd, and hardly surprising given his profound penchant for mendacity. He tweeted:

Given the choice between believing our pathological liar-in-chief or a publication as storied The Washington Post, one would have to be a complete fool to choose the former. Trump considered rescinding his nomination of Neil Gorsuch, and now that that fact has been revealed he’s embarrassed and trying desperately to do damage control. Pathetic.
