In a glaring betrayal to the will of the American people, the Republican-led Federal Communications Commission (FCC) voted this morning to scrap net neutrality regulations ensuring that Americans have access to a free and open internet.
The move was widely condemned by Americans on both sides of the aisle. A staggering 83 percent of Americans polled supported keeping the Obama-era net neutrality rules in place. That did not stop any of the Republican members of the FCC from subverting Americans’ overwhelming opposition in this morning’s vote.
This morning’s move has effectively neutered regulations that prohibited internet service providers from blocking websites, throttling speeds, or charging premiums for certain content. The commission’s chairman, Ajit Pai, has defended the rollback by defiantly claiming that it would “promote competition.”
Ted Cruz, who has already had a number of mishaps on Twitter lately, opted to try his hand at comedy by employing a joke format about as old as time.
Snowflake, believing online propaganda: "OMG w/o net neutrality, the Internet is gone!" Informed observer: "You know, the FCC issued that rule in 2015. The Internet grew up wonderfully free from govt regulation & this restores the status quo ante." Snowflake: "Uh, never mind…"

Notwithstanding his use of the word “snowflake” in a shameless nod to 2015, Cruz’s attempt at comedy almost impressively made everyone reading his tweet feel like they were front row at a bad open mic night.
Perhaps Cruz should’ve retired his Twitter account after the infamous incident in which his account liked a porn tweet. But because he did not, the internet struck back.
Ted, let me put the issue as succinctly as possible. http://pic.twitter.com/QXsr2qWSAp

Government regulations have protected the internet since the dial-up days, you slobbering boob. It's the reason you can stream your vanilla-ass mom porn just as freely as you can tweet complete and utter bullshit like this. Go gargle on Trump's balls and stay out of this.
