Popular California Senator and former state Attorney General Kamala Harris just called for the resignation of President Donald Trump due to his alleged sexual assault and sexual harassment of 19 credible accusers. Even though Trump’s accusers came forward before the 2016 presidential election, he was elected president. However, with the ascent of the #MeToo movement in recent days and three of the accusers calling for a congressional investigation in a press conference earlier this week, the climate has become fertile ground for swift and decisive action on the president’s misconduct.
“I think he should resign in the best interest of the country,” said Harris to the Politico today. “First of all, we know he’s not going to resign, so let’s just be clear about that. But if he were going to make a decision that was in the best interest of the country, I think he should. He should seriously consider it.”

Harris’ demand makes her the sixth Senator this week to call for the president’s resignation, their indignation renewed by Trump’s misogynist Twitter attack on New York Senator Kirsten Gillibrand, in which he implied she was a whore who would “do anything,” for campaign donations.
Lightweight Senator Kirsten Gillibrand, a total flunky for Chuck Schumer and someone who would come to my office “begging” for campaign contributions not so long ago (and would do anything for them), is now in the ring fighting against Trump. Very disloyal to Bill & Crooked-USED!

Even temperate newspaper USA Today was so outraged by the president’s screed that they said he was, “unfit to clean the toilets in the Barack Obama presidential library.”
Harris added that there should be an investigation to verify “the veracity of [accusers] claims.”
Whereas Democrats have called for the resignation of members of their own party, such as Rep. John Conyers and Senator Al Franken, incurring some internal criticism for a lack of due process, Trump and his Republican Party endorsed and funded credibly accused child molester Roy Moore, who lost Alabama’s special Senate election on Tuesday night.
Senators like Harris and Gillibrand carry great sway in their party. With strong women like them taking the lead on holding Trump accountable for his sexual misconduct, the growing outcry they ignite could take him down even before Special Prosecutor Robert Mueller does.
