This morning, the House Judiciary Committee interviewed Deputy Attorney General, Trump-appointed Rod Rosenstein, in a scurrilous effort to gather evidence for the Republican campaign to smear Special Counsel Robert Mueller and give legs to the President’s absurd allegations that the FBI agents are “biased” against him.
During today’s interrogation, Rosenstein was asked if he had seen any reason to justify firing Robert Mueller, to which he replied “No.” When asked if he would fire Mueller if it came down to it, he said that “I would follow the regulation. If there were good cause, I would act. If were no good cause, I would not.”
But more importantly, Rosenstein shut down Republican efforts to smear the FBI agents working on the case. Last night, it was discovered that two FBI agents that had been working on the Russia case had called Donald Trump an “idiot,” which was immediate cause for the right-wing to scream “bias.”
Rosenstein rightfully pointed out that there is a serious difference between political affiliation and allowing personal bias to interfere in one’s work. And most importantly, he let the GOP and the President know that he wouldn’t be firing Robert Mueller anytime soon, as reported by New York Times reporter Charlie Savage:
Bottom line: Rod Rosenstein today is resending a clear signal that if Trump decides to fire Mueller based on anything that has happened so far, Trump would have to 1st fire Rosenstein & go hunting down the DOJ hierarchy for someone willing to do it, Saturday Night Massacre style.

Calling President Trump an “idiot” is less of a personal bias issue than a statement of fact – just ask the President’s own staff.
The important thing is the signal that even though Trump appointed Rosenstein, he has no intention of firing Special Counsel Mueller just because the President starts feeling the heat – which is very bad news for Trump.
He’s not going to be able to fire his way out of this one.
Genius level shit to run a guy so fucking stupid that every person of basic competence calls him a dumbass at some point, ipso facto everyone compromised https://t.co/7OsFUBm4jp
