Fired Trump advisor and former Apprentice star Omarosa Manigault’s post-White House media storm isn’t abating anytime soon. Hot off the heels of her declaration of a “black woman civil war” against ABC’s Robert Roberts for her “Bye, Felicia” joke this morning, she has set her sights on her former employer.
Revealing what life is like actually working in the Donald Trump administration, she announced that it was “very, very challenging being the only African-American woman in the senior staff.”
She added that “There was a lack of diversity that I will acknowledge…it was very lonely.”
It will come as no surprise to many that the man who ran for president on a white nationalist campaign of racial dogwhistles and policies of soft ethnic cleansing has a government dominated by white, elderly, wealthy males.
The most prominent people of color in his cabinet are African-American Dr. Ben Carson, a surgeon who was placed in charge of the Department of Housing and Urban Development, and Hispanic R. Alexander Acosta, Secretary of Labor.
While the exact circumstances surrounding her departure are still hazy, it’s obvious that working in Trump’s White House is not an easy task.
